Dianto Reed Quintet wins the 1st prize in the Chamber Music Competition 'Juventudes Musicales de España'
Dianto Reed Quintet has made history by becoming the first reed quintet that won this competition ever.
In a final where they competed against three other groups – Aluné Ensemble (clarinet, cello, and piano trio), Mezzo Quartet, and Ósimun Quartet (saxophone quartets) – the quintet emerged as the undisputed winner of the first prize. This reed quintet, created in Amsterdam during their master’s studies, with members from Madrid, Murcia, Ecuador, Castellón, and Lugo, is composed of María González Bullón (oboe, 1996), María Luisa Olmos Ros (clarinet, 1996), Erik Steven Rojas Toapanta (bass clarinet, 1994), Ovidi Martí Garasa (saxophone, 1996), and María Losada Burgo (bassoon, 1996).
The prize for the winners is the opportunity to perform various concerts within the “Red de Músicas” (Music Network), the circuit of JM Spain: two seasons for the first prize winners and one season for the second prize winners.
