Dianto Reed Quintet is a chamber music group formed by five Spanish young musicians based in Amsterdam. The name of the group means carnation in Esperanto; carnation for being a typical Mediterranean flower and Esperanto because it is considered a universal language, such as music.

Dianto Reed Quintet offers a fresh approach to the traditional chamber music concert, transforming it into a more interactive experience with the audience. In their performances, they always play from memory, incorporating stage design and choreography to enhance the connection between the audience and the musicians. Additionally, the members of the quintet aim to create programs that integrate other artistic disciplines, particularly when these connections can enrich the listener’s experience.

After studying in different Spanish Conservatories, Dianto Reed Quintet members take part in several young national and international orchestras, such as the Youth Orchestra of Spain, Nationaal Jeugd Orkest, European Union Youth Orchestra or Jong Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, among others. They finished their master studies in the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where they have received masterclasses by several renowned musicians as Miriam Pastor, Simon van Holen, Harmen de Boer, Arno Borkamp, Davide Lattuada, Saskia Mees or Bas Pollard.

Dianto Reed Quintet has been awarded the First Prize at the 106th edition of “Concurso de  Juventudes Musicales de España”, “XV Concurso Nacional de Cámara Villa de Cox”, Grachtenfestival Conservatorium Concours 2021, and the Storioni Concours 2021. Additionally, they received the audience award at the Dutch Classical Talent 2022/2023.

Since their formation in 2020, they have undertaken numerous productions, including their own projects and collaborations with organizations such as NJO Muziekzomer (Netherlands), Jeunesse Musik Erleben (Austria), and Philharmonie Luxembourg (Luxembourg).

Dianto Reed Quintet has performed in various European theaters and concert halls, including Kleinezaal de Het Concertgebouw, TivoliVredenburg, Concertgebouw de Vereeniging, and Philharmonie Luxembourg, among others. They have also participated in international festivals such as Grachtenfestival, Internationaal Kamermuziekfestival Schiermonnikoog (Netherlands), Summerwinds Münsterland (Germany), Gent Festival Oost-Vlaanderen (Belgium), and Festival Internacional de Panticosa Tocando el Cielo (Spain). Furthermore, the quintet has been invited numerous times to prestigious television and radio programs, such as Podium Witteman for dutch television, De Klassieken and Spiegelzaal Avrotros, broadcast live from Het Concertgebouw for NPO radio 4.

Currently, Dianto Reed Quintet combines their concerts with the development of new individual projects and collaborations with Philharmonie Luxembourg. They have also been selected to be part of the Oorkaan-Jeunesse Academy, a program in collaboration with Jeunesse Musik Erleben that not only focuses on musical aspects but also instructs musicians in other cultural areas such as theater, mime, and dance. Thanks to this, in January 2024, Dianto Reed Quintet will embark on a concert tour in Vienna and its surroundings as part of the Jeunesse Musikalische Jugend chamber music cycle.
