Dianto Reed Quintet on the edge

On 1st May, Dianto Reed Quintet had the opportunity to play at Podium Klassiek Eindhoven in Kazerne. They sounded soft and warm where necessary, as in Robert Schumann’s romantic ‘Waldszenen’. But they could also burst into a festive jubilation, especially in Ton ter Doest’s colorful ‘Circusmuziek’. They performed the acrobatic turns and rapid transitions from one instrument to another that he incorporated, like trapeze workers operating on the cutting edge.
