Students discover the magic of classical music during special concert in Cool
‘With Spanish flare and creativity, they made traditional chamber music more interactive and entertaining’ – Rodi Dijk en Waard.
More than 200 young people discovered magic on Tuesday afternoon, 22nd March, during a special concert that was organized especially for teenagers by Stichting Muziekkring Heerhugowaard and Cool Art and Culture. Secondary school students, from first graders to fifth-year students from all over the municipality of Dijk and Waard, were introduced to talented, innovative musicians who gave their own twist to the music in the Rodi-Media hall.
Prior to the concert, there was a special Meet & Greet for the students of the practical school FOCUS with the musicians of the Dianto Reed Quintet, who wanted to talk with great enthusiasm about their instrument and their love for making music together. Lidy Oonk, from the foundation, said: “Some students, especially from the practical school, have never been to a theater before. With a Meet & Greet we made everything more accessible for them”.
