A successful bassoonist from Lugo

“It has opened doors to us at a moment that they were closed consistently throught Corona.”

María Losada Burgo (Lugo, 1996) started her master studies at Conservatorium van Amsterdam in bassoon, an instrument she began to learn when she was 9 years old. In November, with other four young Spanish musicians, she created Dianto Reed Quintet. In February, they won the Grachtenfestival Conservatorium Concours, a Dutch national competition with at least 80 participants.

This renowned prize has opened doors to them in a moment that they have been closed due to pandemic reasons in the culture field, she explained. They are getting contracts to perform in festivals and they have already programmed a concert tour from September around the main theaters of the Netherlands. Also, they performed in the Dutch national television and radio as well.
