De leden van Dianto Rietkwintet onderzoeken hun oorsprong door een DNA-test te doen om te ontdekken waar hun voorouders vandaan kwamen. Dit project reflecteert op migratie, de oorzaken ervan en wat het betekent om mens te zijn zonder grenzen. Het vormt een wonderlijke reis door muziek, ge\u00efnspireerd door al deze plaatsen en verhalen die ons verbinden.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Door de geschiedenis heen hebben mensen en culturen de wereld rondgereisd, zich in verre landen gevestigd en een tijdloos verhaal van migratie, conflict en samenleven geweven. Dit verhaal staat geschreven in ons DNA \u2013 het erfelijke materiaal dat ons verbindt met onze voorouders. DNA kent geen taal, religie of grenzen. Het draagt een onuitwisbaar spoor van waar we vandaan komen en vormt een van de sleutels tot wie we zijn.<\/p>

Voor dit project deden de vijf muzikanten van het Dianto Rietkwintet mee aan een DNA-test om hun afkomst te onderzoeken en te ontdekken tot welke (nieuwe) families ze behoren. De resultaten waren vol verrassingen: het overwegend Spaanse kwintet (met \u00e9\u00e9n lid uit Zuid-Amerika) bleek wortels te hebben die reikten van Griekenland tot Scandinavi\u00eb en van Mexico tot de Balkan.\u00a0<\/p>

Het programma combineert nieuwe opdrachten \u2013 van Ramin Amin (Iran) en Fuensanta M\u00e9ndez (Mexico) \u2013 met traditionele, klassieke en volksmuziek. De klankwereld wordt uitgebreid met de gaita, de Galicische doedelzak, bespeeld door onze fagottist Mar\u00eda, die ook haar stem verleent in zang.<\/p>

Naast de muziek hoort het publiek vooraf opgenomen getuigenissen van hedendaagse migranten, waaronder de twee componisten die in opdracht hebben gecomponeerd. Deze stemmen reflecteren op de vele redenen waarom mensen verhuizen: honger, oorlog, liefde, ideologie, seksualiteit, studie, werk en meer. Migratie brengt altijd gemengde emoties met zich mee \u2013 een gevoel van verlies en verlangen, maar ook van hoop en vernieuwing. Wij zien het als een kans op groei en verrijking.<\/p>
